Corinthians vs Juventude Predictions
- Corinthians have won two and drawn two of their home league games this term, conceding in each of the last two.
- Juventude have scored in all four of their away Serie A games this season.
- Corinthians have conceded once in each of their last three home games.
Trio back to boost Timao
Injuries are biting hard at Corinthians right now, but the Brazilian league leaders should still have enough about them to beat second-bottom Juventude at home this Saturday. Timao saw their 11-game unbeaten streak ended by a 1-0 loss at struggling Cuiabá on Tuesday when they were without established stars like Willian, Fagner, Joao Victor, Jo, Maycon and Luan.
But the trio of Willian, Fagner and Joao Victor trained on Wednesday and look likely to bolster Vítor Pereira’s options for the clash with Juventude at Neo Quimica Arena while Maycon is not thought to be far away either.
Eduardo Baptista’s visitors have avoided defeat in their last three away league games – but all against teams in the lower half of the table that are much closer to themselves in terms of ability and squad depth.
Juventude can grab a goal against league leaders
Corinthians are attempting to juggle their challenge for an eighth national title with a Copa Libertadores tilt and face a key run of fixtures coming up that could lead their Portuguese coach to rest players and prioritise certain fixtures. They do at least get a five-day gap between this and the next game at Athletico Paranaense, so that bolsters our belief that Pereira will wheel out his big names to play on Saturday.
Timao may be too short for some at 4/6, but they really should win this and we believe it may be worth taking the odds boost available for both teams to score as well. Corinthians have conceded in each of their last three home games while Juventude, who claimed a 1-1 draw in the corresponding fixture last season, have also scored in all four of their away league games played his year.
A 3-1 home win could well be on the cards as Corinthians, powered by their returning stars, can get back on the goal trail that saw them score three at home to similarly-struggling Avai earlier this season.
