Coventry 1-0

Reason for tip

Norwich have struggled to score away goals, leading to the belief that one may be enough for Coventry to claim all three points. Six of the Sky Blues’ nine Championship home wins last season were to nil and two of their three victories this term have been by 1-0 scorelines.

Strikers give Sky Blues the edge

Coventry can claim three points in Saturday’s lunchtime Championship clash with struggling Norwich thanks to their superior firepower.

Mark Robins’ men are in their customary position of just outside the play-off places after three games of the season. The Sky Blues recovered from a 1-0 loss at Stoke on opening weekend to beat Oxford at home and then claimed a point from a 1-1 draw at Bristol City last time out.

Coventry are an honest bunch and can wear teams down with their relentless attacking play and team spirit. They have a dangerous front two in Haji Wright and Ellis Simms and get balls and bodies into the box thanks to the tireless running of their wide players and midfielders.

One goal may be enough

It could all get too much for a Norwich side that are down on their luck and confidence right now. The Canaries were thrashed 4-0 by Crystal Palace in midweek after drawing back-to-back Championship home games against Blackburn and Sheffield United.

Their away form is a concern coming into this because the Carabao Cup defeat at Selhurst Park was Norwich’s fourth away reverse in a row during which they have ben outscored 11-0.

Two of those games came prior to Johannes Hoff Thorup’s watch, but the sequence gives the Canaries a fragile look at the moment. Backing Coventry to come out on top looks a sensible option here and a 1-0 victory might be the order of things given all three of their wins this term have been by one-goal margins.
