Crewe vs Sheffield Wednesday Predictions

• Sheffield Wednesday have only kept one clean sheet in their last seven matches
• Crewe have scored at least two goals in their last four home games
• The Railwaymen have only failed to score in three of their fourteen matches at Gresty Road

Crewe Finding Form

Crewe endured a sticky start to the season, winning just one of their opening sixteen league games, but they appear to have found form of late, picking up three victories in their last five outings in all competitions.

Their improved form is partly down to being more clinical in front of goal. The Alex have won their last three matches at Gresty Road 2-0, with half of the twelve goals they have netted on home soil coming in the last four league games.

David Artell’s side still face a tough task to get out of the relegation zone, but they are heading in the right direction and they come up against a Sheffield Wednesday side who are struggling to keep clean sheets, so I predict they will get a couple of goals in this one.

Wednesday’s Defensive Woes

Darren Moore was a very accomplished defender in his playing days and The Owls manager will be only too aware that a run of just one clean sheet in their last eleven away games is not good enough.

Wednesday have conceded at least twice in five of those matches, including four of their last six, so it is clear where their problems lie.

Their saving grace is they have scored as many as they have conceded (13) on the road this year, and they have only lost two of eleven games on their travels.

Six of those fixtures have ended as draws, and I predict another stalemate here, with a 2-2 correct score line prediction.
