Darmstadt vs Cologne Betting Tips

Darmstadt began their long awaited return to the Bundesliga in pretty good form. They only lost two of their opening six league matches, winning impressively against Werder Bremen, Bayer Leverkusen, and Augsburg.

But their form has taken a bit of a battering since the end of October, and as they come into this match they have lost three of their last five games.

Cologne are slap bang in the middle of the table, with their 19 point haul putting them in 9^th position. A win for them on Friday would see them move up to 6^th ahead of the rest of the weekend’s Bundesliga action.

But they have started to break out of that period, and are currently unbeaten in three matches, with a win against Bayer Leverkusen being sandwhiched between goalless draws against Hoffenheim and Mainz.

These two sides haven’t met since 1982, and back then Cologne were the dominant force as they won three of their last four meetings. You can’t put too much weight on that, but I’m expecting them to be fairly dominant on Friday.

Darmstadt have only won two of their eight home games this season, whilst Cologne have managed four wins from eight on the road.
