Dinamo Zagreb Double Chance (Win or Draw)

Reason for tip

Dinamo Zagreb enjoyed a new coach bounce when thrashing Lokomotiva 5-1 last weekend. They should be more competitive than last time out against Bayern Munich after responding positively to a coaching change. Meanwhile, Monaco needed a last-minute goal to keep their winning run going against lowly Montpellier and have won only one of their last 10 Champions League away matches.

Draw 1-1

Reason for tip

Both teams should score given Dinamo’s recent results while Monasco have scored and conceded in their last three games in all competitions. They have not conceded more than once in those games so a 1-1 draw could be the outcome if Dinamo produce a better display.

Bruno Petkovic To Score Anytime

Reason for tip

Bruno Petkovic has scored six goals in his last eight Champions League appearances (including qualifying rounds). He scored in Dinamo’s 9-2 thrashing by Bayern Munich and also registered in a 5-1 win over Lokomotiva last weekend.

Dinamo can be a dangerous animal

Monaco will find Dinamo Zagreb tougher to overpower after a recent change of coach and the Croatian side could avoid defeat in Wednesday’s Champions League clash at Maksimir.

Dinamo parted company with Sergej Jakirovic two days after the club lost 9-2 against Bayern Munich in the opening League stage game at Allianz Arena. They looked like a totally different team when thrashing Lokomotiva Zagreb 5-1 in the league on Saturday, although the standard of opponent differed greatly.

Still, they have renewed confidence and belief in the wake of Nenad Bjelica’s appointment and all the players appear to be pulling in the same direction again.

Monaco left it late

The fans will make an intimidating atmosphere for Monaco’s arrival, although Adi Hutter’s side have been much better on the roads this season than in front of their own sparse crowds at Stade Louis II.

It was evident again on Saturday when they struggled to find a winner against lowly Montpellier, eventually claiming all three points to stay level on points with PSG at the top of Ligue 1 thanks to a last-minute strike.

Monaco have won only one of their last 10 away Champions League games and, although many of the current squad were not around when that sequence began seven years ago, it says a lot about the mentality of the club at this level. They could be vulnerable to a post-Bayern backlash and it may be sensible to oppose them for victory.
