Elche to earn another positive result
Elche deservedly bagged their first win of the season at Getafe on Monday night and Los Franjiverdes are fancied to follow-up with another positive result against poor travellers Levante this Saturday evening.
It’s fair to say that Elche have been mightily impressive in the opening exchanges of the campaign, and they’ve looked a far cry from the side that only narrowly escaped relegation last term.
While their tally of five points to date seems mediocre on the face of things, it actually represents a very good haul when you consider they faced Athletic Bilbao, Sevilla and champions Atletico Madrid prior to Monday’s fixture against Los Azulones.
Atleti are the only team to have bested Elche thus far and that was only via a single goal at Wanda Metropolitano, with Escriba’s side keeping two clean sheets and conceding just twice across their first four starts.
In addition to their early season solidity, Elche come into this fixture having lost only two of their last 11 outings at Estadio Martinez Valero (W4, D5) and the 4/6 about the hosts in the draw no bet market appeals.
Levante have also lost just one of their opening four fixtures, though they’ve only managed three draws which have been against opposition inferior to what Elche have had to deal with so far.
Granotas have lost six of their last nine away trips in La Liga including a 1-0 defeat to Elche here in April, and we envisage this contest panning out in similar fashion.
The insurance of stakes returned for a stalemate is recommended as Elche have ultimately only scored twice in 360 minutes of football, however, Los Franjiverdes created plenty of chances against Getafe last time out and a repeat showing this Monday can see them secure another victory.
Under 2.5 goals have been netted in Elche’s last eight home games and in seven of Levante’s last nine on the road, so correct score players are advised to back a 1-0 score-line for this clash in favour of an Elche outfit on the up.
