Elfsborg vs Sirius Predictions
- Elfsborg have lost back-to-back games since the summer break
- Sirius have won six of their last seven away league matches with both teams scoring in five
- Robbie Ure has scored 10 goals in his last nine league appearances
Sirius business for table-toppers
Table-topping Sirius should have enough about them to claim another three points on the road when they travel to Boras Arena to meet an out-of-sorts Elfsborg on Sunday. Andreas Engelmark’s side maintained their nine-point advantage over reigning champions Hammarby with a 2-1 win at Brommapojkarna last weekend.
It was not a classic showing by any stretch of the imagination, but it was the sort of result you would expect from a side with the momentum of an eight-match unbeaten streak in the Allsvenskan.
Robbie Ure doubled their lead in the 40th minute with his 12th league goal of the campaign and they held off the hosts in the second half to win 2-1. Of their last seven away league contests, Sirius have won six and both teams have scored in five.
Ure the one for goals
It is a trend which could be repeated at Boras Arena, where Elfsborg have scored in all seven of their matches this season. Bjorn Hamberg’s side are on course to repeat their mid-table finish of last year, although results have taken a downturn since the summer break.
The Yellow Ones were beaten 2-1 at home by Hammarby upon the resumption and slumped to a 1-0 defeat to GAIS last weekend. After failing to win four of their last five home games, it is hard to envisage them stopping the Sirius title charge.
Back the visitors to win with both teams to score and Ure to notch in a potential 3-1 road win. Sirius have scored exactly three goals in five of their last seven league and cup trips.
