Vulnerable Porto can edge Monday’s clash

Monday’s Primeira Liga clash between Porto and Vitoria Guimaraes at Estadio do Dragao promises goals. The last four league games between these two sides have all finished with over 2.5 goals, and backing the same again looks the best bet.

Porto, who were knocked out of the Europa League by Roma on Thursday, are 15 points clear of Guimaraes. The Dragons have 14 wins, four draws and four losses from their 22 games this season, while Guimaraes have won seven, drawn ten and lost five.

Guimaraes are struggling to get wins, having failed to register a victory in nine of their last ten Primeira Liga games. They have won just one of their last ten away games. For their part, Porto have gone 14 home games since their last defeat in the league.

Their visitors are no slouches in attack either, scoring 30 goals in 22 league games this term – an average of 1.36 goals per game – but they are struggling to get wins, having failed to win nine of their last ten games.

Porto may be able to edge out Guimaraes in a close game, with a 2-1 home win the correct-score pick. Four of Guimaraes’ five Primeira Liga reverses this season have been by a single goal.
