Ferencvarosi TC vs Twente Predictions
- At least three goals have been scored in all four of Ferencvaros’ competitive games this season
- At least three goals have been scored in five of Twente’s last six games, including friendlies
- Lenny Joseph has scored three goals in his last two games for Ferencvaros
Twente could overturn deficit against fragile Fradi
There’s still plenty of work for Ferencvaros to do in the second leg of their Europa League qualifying tie against Twente in Budapest on Thursday. Two Lenny Joseph strikes earned Fradi a 2-1 away win in the Netherlands last week, in a match which Twente otherwise dominated.
The Dutch outfit had 69% of the ball and double the number of shots as the visitors, registering seven shots on target to Ferencvaros’ two. Joseph was the difference on the night as he proved too sharp for a Twente rearguard that was caught out by off-the-ball movement and suffered lapses in concentration.
Otherwise, the hosts looked great in midfield and created plenty of chances through their wingers and full-backs. A repeat performance could easily turn the tie around in what should be another game where attack gets the better of defence.
Goals on the cards in Budapest
Fradi coach Balázs Borbély made nine changes at the weekend as his side kicked off the Hungarian league campaign with a 4-2 defeat at Paksi.
They were all over the place at the back in that game and, although a second-string defence started the game, Ferencvaros actually got worse when some of their regulars came on as substitutes.
Backing over 2.5 goals looks the obvious play again here with Twente capable of winning the game if they can build up a head of steam while Joseph still remains the most likely goalscorer.
