Forest Green Rovers vs Bristol Rovers Predictions
- 10 of the 14 goals Forest Green have scored at home in the league have arrived after half-time.
- Forest Green have been drawing at half-time in four of their five league wins as hosts.
- Bristol Rovers have scored 80% of their away goals in the league in the second half.
War of the Rovers
Forest Green are aiming to extend their five-point lead at the top of the table as they battle Bristol Rovers who have moved up to 14th in recent weeks.
The hosts have recorded back-to-back wins over Hartlepool and Barrow to move onto 37 points for the season, five clear of Exeter City, with a game in hand. Forest Green have actually been travelling better as opposed to their home games but have won five of their eight home games including each of their last two.
Bristol meanwhile, have put together a four-game unbeaten run with back-to-back draws coming after successive wins. One defeat in seven has left Rovers six points off the play-off places and they are unbeaten in each of their last five away league games, drawing three of their last four.
Second period push
As has tended to be a feature of Forest Green’s games this term, the home side usually kick on after half-time. They have scored 14 times at home in the league, 10 of them arriving after the break while eight of Bristol Rovers 10 goals on the road have come in the second half. That’s why I’m tipping the second period to be the half with most goals and given Forest Green’s recent run I fancy them to keep up the momentum and grab a 2-1 victory here.
