Forest Green may have lost striker Matt Stevens for the remainder of the campaign, but they beat Mansfield 1-0 on Tuesday night to make it three wins in a row and move within two victories of promotion.

Rob Edwards’ side have certainly put their bad run of form behind them, keeping clean sheets in those hat-trick of successes, while they have still only lost four league games at the New Lawn this season.

Indeed, in 20 home outings, Rovers have kept an impressive 11 clean sheets and won 13 times, giving them the second best home record in the division.

Hartlepool’s season petering away

Hartlepool have had little to play for over the last few weeks as they are safe from relegation and will not trouble the play-offs, and that is reflected in their recent form.

Graeme Lee’s side have one just one of their last seven, a surprise 3-2 victory against Newport, while they have failed to score in outings against Leyton Orient, Bradford, Northampton and Salford.

Their away form has been a problem all campaign, registering just five victories in 20 games, failing to net on 11 occasions and scoring just 17 goals.

Forest Green are back in their stride now so I predict they will win this one and keep a clean sheet in the process, selecting 2-0 as a correct score prediction.
