Udinese Draw No Bet

Reason for tip

Udinese, who beat Frosinone 3-1 in similar circumstances five years ago, have a greater need for victory as they are one point and place below their hosts. They have lost only one of their last five Serie A away games, winning two, however, while Frosinone have failed to win six of their last seven home league matches, losing four.

Udinese 1-0

Reason for tip

These two teams could cancel each other out for long periods and the onus will only fall on Udinese to attack if Empoli take the lead at home to Roma. Predicting a correct score will be very difficult as a number of circumstances will determine if either or both teams go for it, but a 1-0 win for Udinese has a chance. They won 2-0 at Lecce a fortnight ago with a solid defensive display.

Lazar Samardzic To Score Anytime

Reason for tip

Lazar Samardzic has scored three goals in his last seven Serie A appearances, including two in his last two games. He showed nerves of steel to score a crucial stoppage-time penalty last weekend in a 1-1 draw.

Friulians have better form than Frosinone

Udinese should not be the underdogs for Sunday’s relegation six-pointer at fellow strugglers Frosinone as the Friulians have proven capable of digging out results when they need them the most.

Fabio Cannavaro’s side have drawn three and won one of their last four games in what has generally been an upturn in their fortunes since the legendary ex-Azzurri defender took charge last month.

Their best performance came in their most recent away game – a 2-0 win at Lecce with goals from midfield schemer Lazar Samardzic and totemic striker Lorenzo Lucca. That duo will be the key to any victory at Stadio Benito Stirpe this weekend where the losing team faces a major threat of relegation.

Both clubs will have ears on Empoli score

That will also depend on the outcome of Empoli’s game at home to Roma, which is played concurrently, but Udinese are required to match Empoli’s result or run the risk of dropping down for the first time in almost 30 years.

Relegation is something Frosinone have become accustomed to with each of their last two Serie A seasons ending in them falling back down. Their home form coming into this game is not convincing and their best hope of staying up here will probably be if Udinese know a draw will be enough for them.

They are in a tricky situation here as there is more of an onus on Udinese to win, but if they do that will put Frosinone’s spot in some jeopardy. The best course of action could be to back the visitors in the ‘draw no bet’ market as if Roma get ahead then both these teams could play out a rather lifeless affair.  But it is worth remembering that when these two sides met in similar circumstances five years ago, Udinese won 3-1.
