Georgia entertain Kosovo in World Cup qualifying on Thursday in what is essentially a ‘must win’ encounter for both sides if they are to stand any chance of competing in Qatar.

Kosovo sit bottom of Group B with no points to show from two games so far, while Georgia are arguably worse off with one point from three.

Georgia don’t necessarily have any real advantages from playing at home either as this clash will be played behind closed doors, and their brand new Batumi Stadium will be unfamilair to both sides as this is the first match to be hosted there.

Kosovo arrive in the better form with three wins in their last four games, while Georgia have three defeats in their last five (W1, D1) but they have played a higher standard of opposition.

Both teams to score is my main tip in this match-up as Kosovo have scored in each of their last five games and both teams have scored in four of those fixtures, and there have been goals at both ends in three of Georgia’s last four outings.

Georgia may just have the quality to edge this tie and a 2-1 win for the hosts is my correct score selection.
