Germany vs Curacao Predictions
- Germany have scored 28 goals in their last nine matches.
- Curacao have conceded at least four goals in defeats to Scotland and Japan recently.
- Florian Wirtz has three goals in his last four appearances for Germany.
Die Mannschaft look for statement win
Germany have failed to make it out of the group stage in each of the last two World Cups and, while they are outsiders to lift the trophy for a record-equalling fifth time, there appears little chance of them suffering early elimination in the 2026 edition.
Their 2-1 win over USA in their final warm-up friendly on Saturday extended their winning streak to nine matches, and it would be a huge surprise if they failed to make it 10 against the 40/1 underdogs Curacao, who are appearing in their first-ever World Cup.
Curacao hopes dwindle after poor friendly showings
The Blue Wave, who beat off competition from Jamaica and Trinidad & Tobago to reach the World Cup, boosted morale with a dominant win over Aruba last time out, but their 4-1 loss to Scotland at the end of May suggests they are in for a rough ride against Germany, Ecuador, and Ivory Coast.
They lost 5-1 to Australia and 2-0 to China in March, and now come up against a star-studded Germany side looking for a statement win to raise the curtain on their campaign.
Wirtz to contribute to rampant Germany win
Die Mannschaft have scored 28 goals in their recent nine-game winning streak, including four or more against Finland, Switzerland, Slovakia, and Luxembourg. Considering Curacao’s defensive collapse against Scotland and Australia, backing Germany to start the tournament with a big win appeals, and it would be a surprise to see them concede.
They have scored exactly four goals in three of these nine matches, two of which ended 4-0, so that appeals as a correct score prediction.
Florian Wirtz may have struggled in his first Premier League season, but the Liverpool man continues to turn up for the national team. He has scored three goals in four Germany appearances this year, including a strike against Finland in May, and he could be one of a few goalscorers in a big win for the favourites.
