Greeks set to push the boat out in Athens

Greece have to push for a win when they entertain Sweden this Wednesday night, and the hosts’ need for three points coupled with recent starts for both sides points towards goals being scored in Athens.

The Greeks have drawn their opening three qualifiers in Group B after being agonisingly pegged back by Kosovo in stoppage time at the weekend, and it leaves them six and seven points adrift of Sweden and Spain respectively going into this midweek tie.

Sweden are effective group leaders as they are just a point behind Spain having played two games less, and Jan Andersson’s side bested the Iberians 2-1 in Stockholm last week to make it nine wins and one draw from their last 11 internationals.

The Swedes are narrow favourites here, though Greece are unbeaten in nine at home (W5, D4) and a draw looks the most likely result to us in Athens.

We’re going for 2-2 in the correct score market and we’re expecting plenty of action with Greece pushing for all three points.
