It may be an obvious thing to say, but getting as many points on the board as soon as possible is key for any sides chances of a successful season. The clash between Grimsby Town and Colchester United on Tuesday evening is a key fixture in the division, with both sides needing to add three points to their tally for very different reasons.

After an awful run of form, Grimsby seem to have turned a corner and have drawn one and won two of their previous three league matches. A 1-0 win away at Carlisle was followed by a 2-0 home win over Port Vale, with Wes Thomas scoring after 30 seconds to set them up for back-to-back wins for the first time this season. The Mariners run of clean sheets continued at the weekend as they managed to keep high flying Exeter at bay, and although they were not able to claim all three points, they will be delighted with their return of seven points in their last three outings.

After securing their sixth victory in seven home games this season, Colchester United made secured back -to-back victiories as they saw off relegation favourites Morecambe in a 1-0 win. United currently sit top of the League Two scoring charts with 29 goals scored in their 14 outings so far, but the result at the weekend shows that they have plenty of steel at the back and have the ability to win ugly when their strikers are not quite at their best.

Both of these sides will be full of confidence following a strong run of results of late, which makes picking a winner on the win-draw-win market a difficult prospect.
