      Huddersfield vs Brighton Predictions

The talk of this game will invariably surround Brighton and their unbeaten two-game start. It’s difficult to judge any team by just two games, especially in the Championship. Few teams better exemplify that than Huddersfield, who started their campaign off by losing to Hull, then Notts County in the League Cup, before hanging on for a draw against Blackburn.

Still, there’s definitely reason for this club to feel optimistic. A defence, re-built from the one that conceded 75 goals last term (fourth worst in the league), has definitely improved and Nahki Wells, the club’s big summer move, opened his goal-scoring account in the draw with Blackburn.

Meanwhile, Chris Hughton and Brighton are flying high after travelling to Craven Cottage and beating Fulham at the weekend courtesy of an injury time penalty. They won their League Cup tie and also their opening tie against Nottingham Forest.

It’s a little excitable to talk about an unbeaten start just two games in, it’s possibly more remarkable that no other side has managed to win their openers. Either way, our betting tips have to reflect that preseason expectations of Brighton were not outstanding. It was a positive for the club to see Tomor Hemed open his goal-scoring account and they look set to be one of the better defensive teams in the division once again.

However, the movement going forward still doesn’t look explosive and the attack that manage just 44 goals in 46 games last season probably hasn’t been improved enough.

The Championship schedule is packed at the beginning of the season and it would be no surprise if the somewhat sporadic start to the season continued on Tuesday night with clubs switching up their line-ups and some key personnel dealing with fatigue.

To that end, we’ll take Huddersfield, a side that we anticipate will improve and push to break into the top half of the table, over a Brighton who will probably also do a little better this season, but will probably still struggle a little on the goal-scoring front.
