Huddersfield vs Burnley Predictions
Of the sides at the top this season, Burnley are perhaps the one that has been talked about the least but they now look like the side most likely to take control of the race for automatic promotion. They are unbeaten since Boxing Day in the league and have won all of their last 5 matches to move to the top of the table. Their 3-2 win at Fulham on Tuesday leaves them 4 points clear of 2nd place Middlesbrough and 6 points ahead of Brighton in 3rd. If they can win this then they really will have an immediate return to the Premier League within their sights. Burnley’s away record this season is excellent and they’ve only lost 2 of their last 16 on the road in the league.
Huddersfield were 3-1 winners against Reading in midweek and it was an important 3 points with a poor run of form prior to that seeing them slip towards a relegation battle once more. That win gives them a 7 point cushion on the bottom 3 but they could probably do with a couple more victories before they can really afford to start thinking about life in the Second tier again next season.
There could be a few goals in this one. Burnley are the league’s top scorers and have netted 14 times in their last 6 matches away from home in the league and Huddersfield like to get forward and play football under David Wagner. They have the joint 2nd best goalscoring record outside the top six so goals at both ends are likely but with Burnley playing with such confidence and exuberance right now they look the more likely winners and there is value to be found in backing Burnley Draw No Bet at 4/5 particularly given they have only lost 5 times all season in the league and not since December.
