Draw 1-1 @ 5/1

Reason For Huddersfield vs Derby County Predictions

  • Both teams have scored in eight of the last ten meetings between the sides.
  • Both teams have kept just one clean sheet in five league outings this season.

Goals anticipated at both ends

Derby make the trip to face Huddersfield this Tuesday and we could well see goals at both ends in West Yorkshire as The Rams aim to remedy their woeful start to the campaign.

Phillip Cocu’s charges fell to their fourth league defeat in five and their fourth consecutive home loss in all competitions on Friday as Watford pinched a 0-1 success at Pride Park, leaving The Rams stricken in 21st place heading into this midweek round of fixtures.

Things surely must turn around soon for Cocu if the Dutchman is to save his job and his side will be desperately seeking a win this Tuesday to stop the rot. That could lead to an open game at John Smith’s Stadium against a Town side who are acclimatising to the more expansive approach of new boss Carlos Corberan.

The Terriers are very much a work in progress but they stood firm and took advantage of their chances to shock Swansea 1-2 at the weekend; a result which will give Corberan and his side plenty of confidence going into Tuesday’s clash.

The hosts will feel they can pounce on this wounded Derby outfit and look set to contribute towards an open encounter. With both teams keeping just one clean sheet in five, both teams to score appeals at around evens as this is a tough one to call in terms of the result. That’s also been the outcome in eight of the last ten meetings including the sides’ 1-1 draw in February – a score-line which could well play out again this time around.
