Hull vs Blackburn Predictions
Steve Bruce may feel as though his side are yet to really fulfill their potential and are still struggling back from the despair that relegation from the Premier League brings. However despite that they are 4th in the league and although they may not have played brilliantly this season, they are getting the sort of results that suggest they should be there or thereabouts come the final equation in May.
At home especially, they have been impressive and they’ve taken 10 points from their 4 games at the KC Stadium so far. A couple of weeks ago this might have looked like a home banker but Blackburn’s 3-0 win over Charlton last weekend certainly raised a few eyebrows and makes this a little more interesting.
Prior to that game Rovers had been fairly awful, failing to win any of their opening 7 games and scoring just 6 goals.
They’ll have taken a great lift from that game but beating an out-of-form Charlton at home is a different prospect altogether from coming to the KC Stadium and doing likewise.
Hull have just that little bit of extra quality on most sides in this league with numerous players who are probably still good enough to be playing at a higher level. They might flatter to deceive at times but that is usually away from home and in the Championship on Humberside, they are likely to be pick up a lot of victories.
Blackburn are a worse side than the one that finished in mid-table last season and although they’ll come into the game with some confidence, it’s just hard to see them getting a result. Therefore there looks to be real value in backing Hull to win at Evens.
The Tigers haven’t been winning any games by big margins though. Blackburn may come here with a nothing to lose attitude and try to test Hull’s defence and they may find the target but that could do little other than stir Hull into life and we certainly still see the hosts having enough to nick the win.
Therefore consider backing Hull to win 2-1 at 8/1.
