Hungary vs Germany Predictions

It’s all to play for in League A3

With one win and a loss so far in this Nations League campaign, Hungary sit above their opponents by a single point heading into round three, a position they would have likely taken without a second thought ahead of the tournament given that they were favourites for relegation from the group.

However, a hard-fought 1-0 win over Euro 2020 finalists England and a narrow 2-1 defeat to European champions Italy has proven that they are not just in the top-flight to make up the numbers. As such, they will be looking to upset the odds with a positive result against the mighty Germany.

The Puskas Arena hasn’t always been kind to Hungary though, with the national team possessing a negative record across all of their games played here to date (W5, D3, L6). Notably, Hungary’s only two clashes with top-ten ranked nations at this venue saw them concede 3+ goals, so a positive start will be crucial.

The Germans are coming for a result

Back-to-back 1-1 draws has hardly been the start to the Nations League campaign that Germany dreamt of, though given that they have played Italy and England, they should be confident of picking up a better result against the lowest ranked side in the group this time around.

Clean sheets have been hard to come by in this tournament though, with Germany keeping just one since the introduction of the Nations League for the 2018/19 season. As such, we are predicting a Germany win with both teams to score.
