      Ingolstadt vs Hertha Berlin Predictions

Ingolstadt are doing very well in their opening Bundesliga campaign, much better than any of their fans could have hoped.

They are in 8th position in the Bundesliga after nine league games having accumulated 14 points.

They started off with a 1-0 win away to Mainz, and have since beaten Augsburg, Werder Bremen, and Eintracht Frankfurt.

Their three losses have come against Borussia Dortmund, Hamburger, and most recently Stuttgart. This 1-0 loss against Stuttgart last weekend was actually their first away loss of the season.

Most newly promoted teams build their success on making their home ground a fortress, but Ingolstadt seem to be having troubles with this. They have only picked up four points from their four home games this season, whereas their ten away points leaves them with the 3rd best away record in the division.

They may find some success on Saturday though, as Hertha Berlin have one of the worst away records in the Bundesliga having picked up a disappointing four points from their five away days.

Overall though the visitors are doing well. They sit in 5th place in the Bundesliga, but still level on points with Ingolstadt. This means they could drop as low as 12th position should they lose on Saturday, whilst Ingolstadt could rise to 4th place.

It would be easy to write off Hertha Berlin at this stage with their poor away record, but their fixtures have been anything but easy. They have had to face Wolfsburg, Borussia Dortmund, and Schalke on the road already, all games which they lost. They picked up a decent draw against Eintracht Frankfurt and won at Augsburg on the opening day of the season.

These two sides faced off against each other in the 2. Bundesliga a few years back. The last three of those games all ended as draws, with Hertha Berlin winning the earliest meeting.

Ingolstadt’s defence is looking solid. They have only conceded seven goals this season and four of those came in one match against Dortmund. Add to this their meagre attacking record and the fact that the last three meetings all ended with fewer than three goals and I think an Under 2.5 Goals bet at 8/13 is a good bet.
