Tough opener for Inter

Inter Milan go into the season as the Scudetto favourites but they face a tricky opener against Monza on Saturday.

The Biancorossi had the better of the meetings between these two sides last season with four points as they won 1-0 at this venue in April, Inter’s last home loss.

A 3-1 win for Inter is the correct score prediction as they may well feel they have something to prove against this Monza side, and they won five of their following six home games after losing to their opponents back in April.

Inter scored 10 goals across their final three home league games last term and can pick up where they left off by grabbing a few on Saturday, potentially by scoring a late goal to finish the game off as Monza should be competitive.

Lautaro Martinez is the standout pick for an anytime strike as he hit five goals in his final seven games. The Argentine forward struck twice in Inter’s final pre-season fixture and can get his campaign up and running with a goal against Monza.
