Japan vs Serbia Predictions

Serbia to extend unbeaten sequence in Kobe

Japan are odds-on favourites to beat Serbia in this Friday’s International Friendly in Kobe, but we think the visitors are worth siding with in the double chance market after a run of eight matches without defeat.

Serbia were extremely poor in their 1-1 draw against Jamaica on Monday and that’s not the first occasion in recent times where they’ve failed to dispatch inferior opposition in friendly competition.

The Serbians were held to goalless stalemates by moderate Central American opposition in the shape of Panama and Dominican Republic at the start of the year and that’s clearly why the bookies are happy to let Dragan Stojkovic’s men go at a touch over 3/1 to beat a useful Japan outfit here.

Nonetheless, Serbia have earned some good results of late against decent opposition and their 2022 FIFA World Cup Qualifying campaign got off to a fine start with wins over Republic of Ireland (3-2), Azerbaijan (1-2) and a 2-2 draw against European champions Portugal.

Unbeaten in eight overall and in their last six away trips, Stojkovic’s side make appeal this Friday at odds-against in the double chance market, with Japan facing their toughest test for some time following facile victories over a clutch of hapless rivals (0-14 vs Mongolia, 10-0 vs Myanmar, 4-1 vs Tajikistan).
