Killie’s woes to continue in home draw

Kilmarnock have not had the happiest of beginnings to the 2024/25 season and their wait for the elusive first win of the campaign may continue when they host Norwegian outfit Tromso at Rugby Park on  Thursday.

Killie’s league opener last time out saw them lose 4-0 at reigning champions Celtic, while their Europa League qualifying campaign ended with a 2-1 aggregate defeat to Cercle Brugge .

Tromso are also in the midst of a disappointing season with Gutan just one point above the bottom three in the Eliteserien however they have only lost one of their last five in all competitions – keeping clean sheets in four of these fixtures.

Kilmarnock only managed a draw in their home leg of their last European fixture and a repeat result may be in store against a Tromso side defending sternly as of late. Each of Tromso’s last five in all competitions have also seen winners in the under 2.5 goals market and so a low-scoring affair looks likely in East Ayrshire, with a 1-1 final score drawing some appeal.
