Tip Reasoning

  • Leeds have failed to win at home to any side above them in the table
  • Man United have won 10 of 16 away trips this season
  • The visitors have won five games on the spin and four of their last five away

Leeds prepare for rivalry renewal

These two old rivals lock horns in a hugely anticipated Super Sunday clash. Leeds have put a good run of form together, but their mixed results at home have us backing the Red Devils in our predictions for this one.

The hosts have had a tough time against strong Premier League sides at Elland Road. Not only have they lost to both of the sides directly behind them in the table (Aston Villa and Wolves) but the hosts have failed to win at home to any of the sides above them.

Red Devils enjoy rare midweek break

Manchester United’s 3-1 win against Burnley last weekend has all but cemented a spot in the top four, and they now hold a hefty seven point lead over third-placed Leicester.

Five wins on the bounce in all competitions puts them in high spirits ahead of this clash and they have had plenty of time to prepare after enjoying their first fixture-less midweek this season.

Man Utd to continue fine form

Leicester, West Ham and Everton have all claimed wins at Elland Road this term and United should be able to do the same. The visitors have won each of their last five games and they’ve been fantastic on their travels so far, winning ten of their 16 away games in the Premier League.

United have won at Man City, Tottenham, AC Milan and Granada in their last five away matches and we think they can hold off Leeds. We’re backing an away win alongside a 2-1 victory for United, with BTTS landing in Leeds’ last three outings.

  • Edinson Cavani has scored in each of his last three games
  • Manchester United have won having been behind at half-time in two of their last three games
