Draw 2-2

Reason for tip

Lens are averaging two goals per game across their last nine at home while Brest have struck 12 goals in their lats six away games to also average two per game. Lens have drawn three of their last five in all competitions after 90 minutes and if this were to finish level, it should have a few goals in it too.

European hopefuls face off in Lens

Lens and Brest should put on a good show this Saturday as both clubs vie for European places in the final months of the Ligue 1 campaign.

Lens’ home form has propelled them up to sixth in the standings and they now lie just three points behind Monaco in third, while only PSG are above Brest, who hold a further three-point advantage on Franck Haise’s side.

Les Sang et Or are a side that can produce memorable moments on their day and they have been among the goals recently, hitting 18 in their last nine league games at the always lively Stade Bollaert-Delelis.

Don’t underestimate Brest

But they would be well advised not to underestimate Brest, whose surprising campaign continued with a 1-0 win at home to Le Havre last weekend.

That was their third win on the bounce and sets them up nicely ahead of a testing run of matches where they will also face Lille and Lyon. Confidence in the camp is high and that could carry them to a positive result in this contest if Lens are not at their best.

A share of the points would also seem highly likely given the hosts have drawn three of their last five matches and were denied a fourth by a stoppage-time Monaco winner at the back end of last month.

If it is to be a draw, then it will surely have goals and a 2-2 thriller cannot be ruled out.  Lens have scored two or more goals in six of their last eight home matches while Brest have struck 12 times in total across their last six away contests.
