Liverpool vs Nottingham Forest Predictions
- Liverpool have won seven straight games at Anfield
- The Reds have scored at least three goals in five of those seven
- The hosts have scored three or more in all but one of their home league games this term
Reds rolling at Anfield
After claiming a 5-1 win over Toulouse on Thursday night, Liverpool have now won each of their last seven games at Anfield. The Reds head into this game having won three of their last four matches, while they have scored 11 times along the way.
The hosts had a tricky start to the league season but they navigated it well, which has them just three points shy of top spot ahead of this weekend’s games. Their schedule eases up in the league moving forward, which gives Jurgen Klopp’s side an opportunity to build more momentum in their title push.
Hosts have found another gear
Liverpool look fantastic going forward at the minute, averaging 2.75 goals per game at home in the league. They’ve also posted the second-highest xG across the league this term, which is to be expected given that their forward players are really clicking under Klopp.
Mohamed Salah comes into this game with five goals in his last three games, while the forward has been directly involved in 17 goals in his last 13 Premier League appearances at Anfield. He’s been involved in a goal in each of those games, while he has taken his league tally for the club at Anfield to 84 goals and 32 assists in 115 home appearances for the Reds.
Despite not registering an assist, Dominik Szoboszlai has created the most chances for Liverpool in the Premier League this season (21). Darwin Nunez is playing well alongside them despite his shocking midweek miss, while the Reds have plenty of options to call upon alongside them.
With the hosts scoring at least three times in five of their seven home games this term, they should rack up more goals on Sunday. Nottingham Forest conceded twice at home to Luton last weekend and they’ve conceded plenty of chances at Arsenal, Man United, City and even in their win at Chelsea. A clinical Liverpool side can put them to the sword.
Gravenberch to capitalise on good form
Of all Liverpool’s attacking options heading into this weekend, one to watch is Ryan Gravenberch. The Dutchman has scored in two of their last three games at Anfield, but he’s still awaiting his first Premier League goal.
Despite that, only Salah and Nunez have a better xG per 90 minutes than Gravenberch in the league this term. He seems to have worked his way into the starting 11 and he looks like a good option to get forward and find the net against Forest, with the Reds racking up plenty of chances at home.
