Liverpool vs Nottingham Forest Predictions

  • Nottingham Forest have the worst away record in the Premier League, losing 11 of their 15 trips.
  • Liverpool have conceded in five of their last six competitive games.
  • Mohamed Salah has scored six goals in his last five starts for club and country.

Reds look to build on emphatic win

Liverpool bounced back from a five-game winless streak in emphatic fashion at Elland Road on Monday and they can continue their resurgence when they face the relegation-threatened Nottingham Forest on Saturday.

Jurgen Klopp’s side ran rampant in the second-half against Leeds, scoring four goals after the break to secure a 6-1 thrashing. They remain some distance from the top-four battle, but if they can mount a comeback for the remaining eight games of the season there is every chance they could end up in the mix come May.

Forest struggle to escape the bottom three

Nottingham Forest are hoping to escape a battle of their own, although that looks more and more unlikely as the weeks go by. The Tricky Trees lost 2-0 at home to Manchester United last weekend to leave them 18th in the table, level on points with Everton above them but knowing they face an uphill battle to escape the drop zone.

That defeat extended their winless streak to ten Premier League games, seven of which they have lost, and considering they have the top-flight’s worst away record that winless run is expected to continue on Saturday.

Salah goalscoring form to continue

Steve Cooper’s side have lost 11 of their 15 league away games this season and should do so again at Anfield, although a consolation goal isn’t out of the question. They have scored at Spurs and Leeds recently and the Reds’ defensive record has been very poor of late.

They have conceded in five of their last six games in all competitions and Forest attacker Taowo Awoniyi returned to the starting lineup last week for the first time since January and could boost their attacking credentials. The visitors have conceded exactly twice in four of their last five league games, so a 2-1 correct score prediction is another good option.

At the other end, Mohamed Salah remains the man to stop, despite his relatively poor season by his high standards. The Egyptian has 15 Premier League goals to his name and has scored six goals in his last five starts for club and country. He looks a solid anytime goalscorer bet.
