Lorient to further boost survival hopes

Lorient’s chances of maintaining their Ligue 1 status have been boosted following a run of just two defeats from their last 11 Ligue 1 games.

Christophe Pelissier’s side have particularly impressed at home during that sequence, registering four wins and just a solitary defeat from their previous six matches at the Stade du Moustoir.

Indeed, 20 of Lorient’s 29 points in Ligue 1 this season have come on home soil and they will fancy their chances of adding to that tally against a Brest side that struggle on the road.

It has certainly been clear to see where Brest’s problems have lay this season, as Les Pirates boast the fifth best home record in Ligue 1, but no team has collected fewer points than their total of nine on the road.

Olivier Dall’Oglio has seen his side win just twice on their travels all season, with the last of those victories coming back in November, meaning they are currently on a nine-game winless streak away from home.

Brest’s dismal away record, coupled with Lorient’s upturn in form, means we are predicting a home win on Sunday.
