Lorient look good to extend their strong run

Lorient had a rough start to the Ligue 1 campaign, losing three of their first four, including a 7-1 home defeat to Lille. However, they’ve been able to put a bit of a run together at home, going five games without defeat.

The fourth-bottom hosts look good to spring a surprise on Sunday, given Lyon’s inability to put away weaker sides on the road. The visitors have won 1-0 at top-four sides Lens and Lille, but they’ve failed to win across their five other matches on their travels.

That includes a 3-3 draw at promoted Paris FC, a  0-0 draw at Auxerre, and a 3-2 loss at Nice. The visitors have failed to win their last four away games.

Lorient beat Nice 3-1 in their last home game, and they’ve won three of their seven home games this term. They’ve beaten top-seven sides Rennes and Monaco 4-0 and 3-1, respectively. They can raise their game once again, so back them to cause problems for Lyon.
