Toulouse could frustrate much-changed Parisians

Paris St-Germain were frustrated in a goalless draw at home to Lorient on the opening day of the Ligue 1 season and it may take some time for the new-look Parisians to find their stride.

PSG finished one point clear of Lens to take the Ligue 1 title last season but they have seen plenty of change over the summer with Neymar and Lionel Messi opting for high-profile moves away.

There have been some strong arrivals, with Ousmane Dembele signing from Barcelona, Lucas Hernandez coming from Bayern and Real Madrid star Marco Asensio following their path.

But it can take time to adapt and that was evident in their opening clash with Lorient, where they handed debuts to six players and underwhelmed with only four shots on target.

Kylian Mbappe missed that game, too, and is now expected to stay put in the French capital.

However, Toulouse could give them a scare. They won their opening test 2-1 at Nantes and finished last season on a five-game unbeaten run, which concluded with a 2-1 victory at Monaco.

And for all of PSG’s success last season, they did drop points in five of their 19 away games which shows they are far from invincible.

Given there may be a lack of cohesion in the PSG camp as a result of their wholesale change, it could be worth taking a chance on Toulouse or draw double chance.
