Luxembourg to Win

Reason for tip

Luxembourg got the better of Bosnia last time they faced off, winning 2-0, and should be too strong for their visitors once again. The hosts need three points to keep their automatic qualification hopes alive and that should give them the motivation to get the victory.

Luxembourg 2-0

Reason for tip

Bosnia are without their key creator Miralem Pjanic and their main source of goals Edin Dzeko, suggesting they may struggle to score in Luxembourg. However, the hosts are not notoriously high scorers themselves, so two may be the limit for their attacking output against a weakened Bosnia.

Luxembourg vs Bosnia And Herzegovina Predictions

  • Bosnia have failed to score in five of their last seven away matches
  • Luxembourg have lost only three times in their last nine home games
  • ten of Bosnia’s last 12 away matches have finished with fewer than three goals

Luxembourg to land important double

Bosnia have already missed out on automatic qualification for next summer’s EURO 2024 finals in Germany, sitting too far behind section leaders Portugal and second-placed Slovakia, and have rested key players for their remaining two Group J games.

Captain Edin Dzeko and creative midfielder Miralem Pjanic are not in the squad, which will give Luxembourg increased confidence as they have already beat Bosnia once and now face a weakened side this time around.

The reverse fixture saw Thursday’s hosts win 2-0 and they will be looking for a similar result, following three qualifiers without a victory, as only three points and a loss for Slovakia would keep their automatic progression hopes alive.

They are assured of a playoff spot regardless, which is a fantastic achievement for such a small nation,  but they will be motivated by the potential of avoiding that lottery and should get the better of Bosnia once again.

Bosnia unlikely to land a blow

Without the services of Dzeko and Pjanic, Bosnia look to be lacking the cutting edge to hurt Luxembourg and a low-scoring home win looks likely.

2-0 was the score last time these sides met and ten of Bosnia’s last 12 away matches have finished with fewer than three goals while two of the host’s last three competitive home games have seen under 2.5 goals.

The visitors have failed to score in five of their last seven away matches so this could be fairly routine for a motivated Luxembourg side.
