Hosts will be in a confident mood

Lyon were involved in a disappointing 1-1 draw away to Reims last weekend and manager Peter Bosz suggested there would be some changes for the midweek match. It seemed to do the trick as the hosts were able to see of Auxerre 2-1 and now they welcome Angers to Parc Olympique Lyonnais. Lyon have won all three of their home games so far this campaign, scoring at least twice in all of them. However, they will want to try and keep a clean sheet here, something they have failed to do up to this stage.

Historically, the visitors do not have a good time of it when they travel away to Lyon. They have lost their last three matches there by an aggregate scoreline of 12-2 but they’ll have some hope considering both of those goals came in this exact fixture last term. They’ve conceded an average of three goals per game across their last four league matches and their defence is something that will require attention if they’re to earn anything here.

We can’t look past Lyon for this one. The visitors conceded far too many goals and the hosts have been utterly dominant on home soil. We do think Angers can get on the scoresheet as every other side travelling to Lyon this season has managed to do. But ultimately, a home victory is expected.
