Lyon vs Strasbourg Predictions

  • Both teams have scored in six of the last seven meetings between these two
  • Lyon have lost twice without scoring in Ligue 1 so far
  • Four of the last five head-to-heads have finished 2-1

Hosts off to slow start

Lyon have had a nightmare start to the season and may be worth taking on again when they host Strasbourg on Friday.

The home team have lost both of their opening two games of the Ligue 1 season, 2-0 to Monaco and 3-0 to Rennes respectively.

They had an extremely slow start to last season as well, winning just one of their first 14 league games, and face a Strasbourg side who have been in decent nick.

The visitors beat Rennes 3-1 last time out after being held to a 1-1 draw by Montpellier in their curtain raiser.

New manager Liam Rosenior has impressed in his short coaching career and the club’s link with Chelsea has allowed them to spend heavily over the summer.

The Blue-and-Whites have added the likes of Sekou Mara from Southampton and should be able to improve on their 13th-placed finish from last season.

Goals at both ends looks a likely outcome

They can at least avoid defeat as Lyon’s slow start may be set to continue, side with the visitors in the double chance market.

For correct score backers, they should note that four of the last five head-to-heads have finished 2-1 and this could be a repeat of that.
