Manchester City vs Borussia Monchengladbach Betting Tips

Manchester City have suffered some poor results over the past few weeks, results that could have put their Premier League title challenge in jeopardy.

They lost 2-0 to Stoke on Saturday, adding to defeats by Liverpool and Juventus in recent weeks along with a disappointing draw with Aston Villa.

Manchester City have won two, lost three, and drawn one of their previous six matches in all competitions, leaving them 3^rd in the Premier League and 2^nd in Champions League Group D.

But they are just two points behind group leaders Juventus, so a win on Tuesday could send them to the top of the group in the final game.

Borussia Monchengladbach could be more difficult than expected for Manchester City though. They had a very difficult start to the season, losing all of their opening six games in all competitions.

However, Monchengladbach have only lost once since then, with 11 wins, four draws, and one loss making up their last 16 results.

They will be on a massive high coming into this match as well after they ended Bayern Munich’s unbeaten start to the Bundesliga season on Saturday with a hugely impressive 3-1 victory.

Borussia Monchengladbach have won four of their last six away matches, with their other two games ending all square. But Manchester City have won seven and lost one of their last eight home outings.

Monchengladbach’s poor start to the campaign has left a qualification position out of reach for the Germans, but they will still want to qualify for the Europa League knockout spot.

I think with Manchester City safely through to the next round and Borussia Monchengladbach already out of the running the pressure will be off both sides. This should allow the quality of Manchester City to shine through as they hunt for the top spot, so I’m backing a Manchester City win at 7/10.
