Manchester United’s shock victory away to Champions League Group H favourites in the last round of fixtures has eased the pressure on the Red Devils somewhat. Now, coming into the penultimate game of the group stages, Jose Mourinho’s men find themselves on the cusp of qualification to the knockout rounds.

They currently sit 2 points ahead of Valencia and 2 adrift of Juventus at the top, and with those teams going head to head on Tuesday there could be a significant shift in the standings. A win for Valencia away to Juventus would open the door for Manchester United to take the top spot, while a win for Juventus would allow United to seal qualification on Tuesday. A draw would be the best result though, allowing them to snatch the top spot and seal qualification at the same time.

However, for any of that to happen they must beat Swiss underdogs Young Boys on Tuesday night. It should be too big of an ask for the Old Trafford superstars, especially after their 3-0 win in Switzerland earlier in the campaign, but at the moment nothing can be taken for granted.

They failed to beat Crystal Palace at home at the weekend and have only won 4 of their last 12 competitive matches. However, in the Champions League they did secure that incredible win away to Juventus, and once again Mourinho seems more comfortable in continental competition rather than domestic.

Young Boys aren’t exactly the most illustrious of opponents either. They may rule supreme at the top of the Swiss Super League, but their performances in the Champions League have brought them back down to earth. They have lost 3 of their 4 group games so far, conceding 10 goals in the process and collecting just 1 point.

Defensively they simply cannot compete with the other teams in the group. They have conceded 3 goals against all 3 of the other teams and shipped 3 away to both Juventus and Valencia. Manchester United netted 2 against Juventus last time out and scored 3 away to Young Boys, so we could be in for an high scoring match here.

All but 1 of Young Boys Champions League games have seen at least 3 goals, as have an impressive 17 of their last 22 in all competitions. Manchester United have seen at least 3 goals in 14 of their 18 competitive matches this season too, so we’re backing a Manchester United Win and Over 2.5 Goals along with a 3-1 correct score predictions.
