We use stars to rate our confidence in our tips, with 3 being most confident to 1 being the least.
Oxford United 2-0 @ 9/1

Reason For MK Dons vs Oxford United Predictions

  • MK Dons have failed to win in their last 12 matches.
  • MK Dons have failed to score in 50% of their home matches.
  • MK Dons have lost 68% of their matches.
  • Oxford have been undefeated in their last 11 matches.
  • Oxford have scored in 90% of their away matches.

A disastrous start

It has not exactly been the dream start for the MK Dons as they have struggled in League One and now face an uphill battle if they are to maintain their spot in England’s third tier. The hosts come into this match having failed to win in their last 12 league matches and given that they have also failed to score in half of their home matches, it is not as if their fans have too much to cheer about at the moment.

The bad news does not stop there either, as while they have their troubles finding the back of the net, they also struggle to keep the opposition at bay at the other end. The Dons have conceded 30 times this term and they have conceded an average of 1.7 goals per game.

A team in form

With the hosts in such poor form, the last thing they need is the most in form side in the division being the latest team to visit stadium:mk, but unfortunately that is exactly what they have got. Oxford United have managed to earn 18 points from their last eight matches and, with a points return like that, it should not be surprising to learn that they have climbed the table and are now back in the promotion picture.

A major reason behind this resurgence in form has come down to their form in front of goal and the fact that they have the second best offensive record in the league with 37 goals from their 18 games is testament to that fact.

A perfect away day

With the form demonstrated by the hosts in the build up to this match, there is little we can look at which suggests better times are around the corner. They have lost 60% of their home matches and have failed to win any of their previous six on home. Given that the visitors are in such good form and are so free scoring, backing an away win looks to be the only way to go in this clash.

Our correct score tip follows the same pattern as the hosts are only averaging 0.8 goals per game at home and have failed to score in half of their matches on home soil. When you factor in that the visitors have scored 1.9 goals per game and have only failed to score in 10% of their matches on the road, then it becomes clear that backing a 2-0 away win represents a solid bet.
