      Molde vs Standard Liege Predictions

It hasn’t been a good few weeks for the Norwegian champions Molde, who have been dumped out of the Champions League qualifying phase (4-4 on away goals by Dinamo Zagreb), knocked out of Norway’s answer to the FA Cup and dropped points in two league draws with Odd and Sarpsborg.

Their woes have been caused by innate defensive frailties, although they’re not shy in front of goal themselves either; on four occasions so far in their league campaign they have gone Over 3.5, and on five occasions Over 2.5, in just 19 starts. An average of 3.16 goals per game speaks volumes.

Standard Liege, meanwhile, aren’t prolific by any means, but they have yet to fail to find the net in their six games so far in the 2015/16 campaign. A front three of Mohammed Yattara, Ivan Santini and former Leicester City man Antony Knockaert should cause havoc.

Defensively they are sound too – a brilliant backs-to-the-wall performance away at Zeljeznicar secured their passage to this round of the competition, but this Molde side really does know where the net is.

Standard Liege are perhaps the better side on paper, although presumably they’ll be happy to take a draw here with an away goal and then secure the tie in the return leg. Molde’s poor form counts against them, but they certainly have no problems scoring. And so Both Teams To Score at 5/6 looks great value; as does the 1-1 Correct Score at 5/1.
