Napoli vs Juventus Predictions
They produce two straight 5-0 thrashing against quality opposition, but Napoli ultimately let us down midweek by drawing 0-0 at Carpi. It’s frustrating for betting fans, but it sums up a Serie A season where a number of the usually reliable top teams have let us down. Our gut instincts tell us that they’ll still come through and it’ll be a familiar set of names atop Serie A by midseason. However, it appears that navigating some of the treacherous territory is in order early this season.
This match-up could hardly sum that up better, besides Napoli’s erratic nature, Juventus hasn’t been inconsistent, the defending Serie A champions and heavy preseason favourites have been reliably poor. They’ve got one win in five games so far and they were at their worst this week drawing 1-1 with Frosinone, a team that everybody has looked capable of thrashing prior to that game.
It looks like the loss of Pirlo and Tevez has hurt Juventus more than some might have expected, several of the new faces are still struggling to fit in. Meanwhile, Rafa Benitez’s job with Napoli isn’t looking so bad now…
Three Reasons for Betting Tips
1. Navigating erratic games
We don’t want to guess how this will end up. The only thing we need to trust with a BTTS market is that the teams’ respective defences will get exploited once, or that two talented teams will find a way to score. No guarantees, but we like our chances and we like the number that we are getting it at.
2. Napoli bounce back
We think Napoli will control this game for the most part, Maurizio Sarri is starting to get things as he likes them, though the draw midweek against Carpi was a setback.
3. Missing Pirlo
Juventus just don’t look capable of controlling or winning games in the methodical way they did last season. They miss the cutting edge of Tevez up front, and they miss Pirlo.
