New York Red Bulls vs Nashville SC Predictions

  • New York Red Bulls have won their last three MLS home games, scoring twice on each occasion.
  • Nashville SC have drawn their last four MLS contests in 90 minutes.
  • Midfielder Caden Clark has scored in all four of New York Red Bulls’ home MLS games this season.

Energetic Red Bulls can trample all over Nashville

New York Red Bulls will bid to extend their home winning streak when they host Nashville SC in the latest round of MLS fixtures on Saturday morning.

The Red Bulls are the youngest team in the league with an average age of 23.3 and harness all that youthful exuberance well in a high-energy pressing game.

So far that has paid dividends at Red Bull Arena where Gerhard Struber’s side have won three of their four matches, scoring seven and conceding just three.

Nashville SC have been warned what to expect when they arrive in New Jersey for the first time as the Red Bulls have won nine and drawn one of their ten previous first meetings with expansion teams.

Gary Smith’s side are unbeaten in seven but have lost the services of Venezuelan forward Jhonder Cadiz to the Copa America.

Midfielder Dom Badji is also out with an injury while striker Daniel Rios has sustained a minor setback in his rehabilitation from a groin problem and won’t travel.

Nashville SC started slowly against Atlanta United last time out, something that has become characteristic of Smith’s men in their second-ever MLS campaign, before grabbing two late goals to draw.

It’s hard to see how they can keep on doing that and stay unbeaten so we forecast their run to come to a crashing halt on Saturday.

The Red Bulls average just a shade under two goals per game at home across the last nine fixtures and we are taking them to win 2-1 in the correct score market.

It’s also worth noting that midfielder Caden Clark, who has bagged in all four of their 2021 home games, has scored seven times in his first 15 MLS games (11 starts) and is a big price in the anytime scorer betting.
