Both teams to score looks a nice bet for Sunday’s Ligue clash between Europe-chasing Nice and mid-table Lorient.

Les Aiglons reached the Europa Conference League quarter-finals on Thursday with a 3-1 home win over Sheriff, but can also make it into the Europa League next term via the league if they can close a four-point deficit to fifth-placed Rennes.

Didier Digard has got them playing again after stepping into the manager’s chair in January as his team have embarked on a 12-match unbeaten run of eight wins and four draws.

Foolish to oppose Digard’s Nice

It seems foolish to oppose them at the moment, but visiting Lorient are no mugs and will be fresher from not having had any midweek assignment. Les Merlus have one of the better records of scoring on the road in Ligue 1 and can register against a Nice defence that have had a few off days lately.

Digard’s side twice relinquished the lead at Nantes last week and allowed Sheriff to pull a goal back within a minute of going 3-0 up on aggregate on Thursday. But all three of their starting forwards scored in midweek and the returning Nicolas Pepe will keep them on their toes as he steps up his comeback.

A 2-1 Nice victory looks the best option in correct score betting as Lorient have shipped eight goals in their last four road trips and conceded multiple goals in tow of their three away dates against top seven sides.
