Norwich vs West Brom Betting Tips

Norwich looked to be doing so well after their reintroduction to the Premier League, but Sunday afternoon highlighted some glaring problems in their squad.

Newcastle were winless in the Premier League coming into this game, but somehow managed to come away with an emphatic 6-2 victory after new signing Georginio Wijnaldum notched four.

This was Norwich’s 3^rd Premier League game without a win, with the previous week seeing them lose to Leicester and a draw at West Ham preceding that.

Despite their fairly good start to the season, their last few results have seen them slip down to 16^th position in the Premier League table.

West Brom have a slightly more optimistic outlook on life up in a more respectable 13^th position, but they do only have two more points than the home side.

They were on their own run of poor form until last weekend. They had lost to Norwich in the League Cup and followed that with defeats to Everton and Crystal Palace.

But their 1-0 win over Sunderland will have brought some confidence back into the West Brom ranks, and a clean sheet after uncharacteristically conceding eight in their previous three will have been very welcome to Tony Pulis.

Youssouf Mulumbu will be sidelined for Norwich for this game, whilst James Morrison joins long term injury Ben Foster in the physio’s office for the visitors.

I think the 6-2 loss to Newcastle on Sunday will have done some real damage to Norwich’s confidence, and this should play into West Brom’s hands. It’s not like they’re completely inexperienced in the Premier League, but it has been a long time since they have suffered such a heavy defeat.

This makes me lean towards backing West Brom to get a result, and with excellent value odds of 5/6 being offered for a West Brom Win or Draw Double Chance I’m definitely putting my money on that.

All of West Brom’s three victories this season have been 1-0, and with Pulis focusing on defensive stability I think another 1-0 is the most likely scoreline. Odds of 10/1 for this look really good value as well.
