      Nottingham Forest vs Brentford Predictions

Neither side here will be completely happy with how their season has gone and both find themselves languishing in the bottom half but not in serious danger of relegation right now. Certainly Forest should avoid that comfortably enough but they’ve lost 6 of their last 8 league matches, taking only 4 points during that period. Their last 3 games have all been against top six sides though and they did get a point at Hull prior to a narrow defeat at local rivals Derby County.

Forest may feel this is a good opportunity to get back on track. Brentford are in freefall and have lost all of their last 4 matches in the league. They’ve lost 11 of their 14 matches so far in 2016 and the pressure is mounting on manager Dean Smith who only arrived earlier in the season. The sales of some key players in January have certainly played a part in their demise and if this losing streak continues for much longer then they really could be in some bother. They currently have a 6 point cushion on the bottom 3 but there are one or two sides below them in much better form.

This is unlikely to be a classic and games involving Forest rarely are, this season at least. They have the worst goalscoring record outside the bottom 3 but are pretty solid at the back and have conceded 23 fewer goals than opponents Brentford this term. The Londoners have been really poor of late and their 4 recent defeats haven’t been against particularly strong sides. They’ve been beaten at home by bottom half Blackburn and a weak Charlton side in the past month and have conceded 12 goals in their last 4 away matches, scoring just once. Therefore surely backing Nottingham Forest to win at 5/4 offers some value here.
