Nottingham Forest vs Sheffield Wednesday Predictions
The Owls are now under real pressure from Birmingham, Ipswich and Cardiff who are all below them but could move above them if they win their games this weekend and Wednesday slip up here. Sheffield Wednesday had been scoring plenty of goals but they have curiously dried up in recent weeks. They’ve only scored once in their last 5 league games and have picked up just 3 points over that period. They have though picked up very solid 0-0 draws away to promotion chasing Hull and Brighton in their last away games.
Nottingham Forest ended a 4 game losing streak in midweek when they beat Preston 1-0 at the City Ground. They have been struggling for goals all season and only 3 sides have scored fewer goals than them in the Championship this term. They have only netted 4 times in their last 9 matches in all competitions and that losing streak looks certainly to have ended any outside hopes they might have had of reaching the play-offs.
It is very hard to see there being many goals here given both sides struggle for goals in recent weeks. Forest have a good defensive record, which is the best outside of the top 6 and Wednesday have showed their metal too with those recent impressive rear guard efforts away from home. Both teams have scored in only 1 of the last 10 matches involving Nottingham Forest and just 1 of the last 6 involving Wednesday. Therefore surely backing Both Teams to Score – NO at 4/5 is the way to go here.
