Odd vs Brann Predictions
Eliteserien leaders Brann are back in action on Monday night, and they’re aiming to secure another three points as they push for a first title in 11 years. They’re hoping to continue their strong start to the campaign, but they face a tricky visit to Odd in the weekend’s final clash, as they meet the side who finished just a place behind them in the league last season. Will Monday’s meeting be that close, or will Brann’s quality tell in their trip east?
The hosts have some mixed results behind them this season, and they come in to the campaign placed in 10th in the Eliteserien. They’re just six points above the drop zone, and seven shy of the European spots. They could go either way this season, but can Odd pick up their form and repeat their top six finish from last season? They’re on a poor run of results as things stand, and this week’s clash is the toughest way for them to attempt to return to form.
The hosts have one win in their previous six matches, after being knocked out the cup and drawing at struggling Lillestrom in their last two matches. Their last victory came in mid-May, which has got to leave Brann with a chance to claim the points? The visitors have hit a tough spell of late, but they’ve remained unbeaten in the league this term. They’ve been in great shape on their travels, too. The league leaders boast the best away record in the Eliteserien, while Odd have failed to win almost half of their home matches.
Odd have failed to win four matches on the bounce, and their last home match saw them lose at home to Kristiansund. They’ve got to be concerned ahead of a meeting with Brann, who have claimed 55% of their points on the road this season. The unbeaten visitors have won five and drawn two of seven away trips, while they’ve won 11 of their last 15 matches in all competitions ahead of Monday’s encounter. There’s a gulf emerging between the two, and Brann’s title bid means they can’t afford to slip up here.
The visitors have a strong defensive record, and we expect them to see off a team who have conceded twice in three of their last four games. We’re backing a sixth win in seven away league games for Brann, and they can be found at good value on the Draw No Bet market. While their outright odds are tempting, it’s good to get a little bit of insurance, especially when the team we’re backing were last beaten in the league back in November.
