Both Osasuna and Gimnastic Tarragona have had excellent domestic seasons, and now the culmination of all their hard work throughout the season comes down to a few matches that will determine which division they will be playing in next season.

Osasuna finished last season just one point outside of the relegation zone in the Spanish Segunda, but they have bounced back fantastically to finish 6th in the table this season and put themselves in with a chance of a return to the top flight after a short hiatus.

Gimnastic Tarragona were promoted last season after a three year stay in the 3rd tier of Spanish football, and they have wasted no time in stating their intentions as they put in an excellent season to finish 3rd in the Spanish Segunda.

They were just three points off automatic promotion and finished the season with a five point advantage over Girona below them thanks to a nine match unbeaten streak at the end of the season. Their last match finished 1-1 to make it five wins and two draws from their last seven fixtures.

Away from home Gimnastic have managed to win three on the bounce and have only lost one of their last 12 on the road, whilst Osasuna lost their final home match against Huesca to end their 13 match unbeaten streak there. However, they only managed to win four of those 13 unbeaten games.

This, coupled with Gimnastic’s excellent away form at the end of the season, make odds of 4/7 for a Gimnastic Tarragona Win or Draw Double Chance look excellent value to me, and I’m going for a 1-1 correct score prediction at 5/1 as well.
