Partizan Belgrade vs Manchester United Predictions

Partizan Belgrade’s hard-fought 2-1 win over Astana earlier this month saw them emerge from matchday two of the Europa League in top spot in Group L, and the Serbians will be looking to retain that position as we hit the halfway mark in the group stages on Thursday.

The hosts are in an uncharacteristic spell of poor form though, losing their last two Serbian Super Liga matches and seeing their 10 match unbeaten streak come to an untimely end. That being said, their motivation will be through the roof on Thursday as they come up against the group favourites.

They may be favourites, but there’s certainly no guarantee that Manchester United will win this match. Ole Gunnar Soslkjaer is expected to ring the changes for this trip to Serbia, and if their previous two Europa League outings are anything to go by then Partizan have a great chance of getting something from this game.

The Red Devils have fielded youngsters such as Angel Gomes, Mason Greenwood, Diogo Dalot, Brandon Williams, Axel Tuanzebe and Tahith Chong in the Europa League this season, and considering their arm-length injury list it’s highly likely that we’ll see another youthful starting 11 on Thursday.

Not only that, but Manchester United are really struggling for form. The Europa League has seen them claim a drab 1-0 win over Astana before an even more drab goalless draw at AZ, and they have now only won four of their 12 competitive games this season.

Six of these 12 matches have ended as stalemates, including three of their five away games. With Partizan Belgrade playing out a draw in their only Europa League home game since the group stages began, we think backing a Draw on Thursday is a great value offering.

Manchester United have averaged exactly one goal per game in all competitions this season, and they haven’t scored more than once since their opening day thrashing of Chelsea. They have also conceded 0.83 goals per game on average, so backing a 1-1 correct score prediction looks a solid choice in this market.
