Perth Glory vs Melbourne City Betting Tips & Predictions

Sunday morning sees two of the most in form sides in the Hyundai A-League face off in the penultimate round of fixtures in the regular season, and one that could well decide where the Premiership title is heading.

Perth Glory come into this game having won nine and lost one of their last ten outings in the A-League, a run of results which has seen their poor start to the season forgotten and has taken them up to 5th in the table.

With just two games remaining they are five points adrift of the top spot, but they have a game in hand on new leaders Western Sydney Wanderers. A win on Sunday would see them close the gap on Melbourne City to one point, and all they have to do is hope that the rest of the four teams above them slip up.

Melbourne City won’t be pushovers by any means though. They have won four matches on the bounce in the A-League and are currently the strongest placed side in the table, sitting one point behind Western Sydney Wanderers but with a game in hand on them.

They do arguably have the toughest two league games though, with this one against Perth Glory being followed by a hosting of fellow title rivals Adelaide United next weekend.

Melbourne City have lost four of their last six trips away in the A-League, whilst Perth Glory have enjoyed four wins in a row at the nib Stadium, scoring 15 goals in the process. This should be a very tight match on Sunday, but I think the hosts can continue their excellent home run by taking advantage of Melbourne City’s poor away form.

Odds of 11/8 for a Perth Glory win look excellent value as well, so that’s what I’m backing along with a 2-1 correct score prediction at 17/2.
