Portsmouth vs Accrington Stanley Predictions

• Portsmouth have scored in nine of their last 11 League One games.
• Accrington have found the back of the net in each of their last five matches.
• Only already-relegated Swindon have conceded more away goals than Accrington.

Pompey could blow playoff chances

Portsmouth know if they beat Accrington Stanley on Sunday then they will secure the final League One playoff place, but anything less and they could open the door for either Oxford or Charlton.

Danny Cowley’s side have taken seven points from their last three games to make sure their playoff destiny is in their own hands.

Scoring goals certainly should not be a problem for Pompey on Sunday, as they have netted in seven of their previous nine league games.

Accrington have also been amongst the goals of late, as they will head to Fratton Park having scored in each of their last five matches in League One.

However, John Coleman’s side also concede plenty of goals, as only already-relegated Swindon have let in more on the road this season.

Stanley have also been involved in three successive score draws, including a 3-3 with Portsmouth when the two teams met at the Wham Stadium at the end of April.

Three of the last four meetings between Portsmouth and Accrington have ended in score draws and we are predicting both teams to score on Sunday, although are overall score prediction of 1-1 may not be enough to secure Pompey a place in the playoffs.
