Cherries seek win where promotion rivals have failed

Bournemouth ought to avoid defeat at Deepdale on Saturday, but whether Scott Parker’s side can get all three points is very much open to question.

The Cherries have been very hit and miss on the road of late, winning two of their three away league games since the turn of the year. Their only defeat came at in-form Luton Town. At the time, Bournemouth’s failure to beat the Hatters after coming from 2-0 down to level at Kenilworth Road, was seen as a bad result but it seems more understandable in light of Luton’s leap into the top six.

Prior to that, Parker’s side had squandered leads at Derby, Millwall and Fulham before losing at Middlesbrough. Their best away performance of the last few months came at QPR when they should have come away with more than just a 1-0 win against a side that hadn’t played in three weeks and looked rusty.

Bournemouth have belief after big turning point against Stoke

Preston are a battle-hardened unit that have been too tough to crack for the likes of Fulham, Sheffield United, Huddersfield and Nottingham Forest since late November. All of those matches were at Deepdale and all finished in draws.

Backing the draw in the match result market is certainly a viable option here, but our preference is to go with the Cherries as a draw no bet play. They have won each of their last four Championship games to build up enough momentum to carry them over the line in Lancashire this weekend.

Last Saturday, two Bournemouth goals in the last ten minutes turned a potentially damaging home defeat to Stoke into an unlikely three point-haul that could prove to be a major turning point in the automatic promotion race. A 2-1 correct score forecast is our focus again here as the Cherries have won back-to-back games by that scoreline.
